Historic elegance & modern functionality

This Grade II listed building needed a lot of careful consideration and the approval of the conservation officer before we were able to create this bistro bar in the wardroom of the naval base.

The previous space was a very dated basement bar and was not fit for purpose, so Interserve proposed its relocation to this lovely bright space on the ground floor.

We created island shelves around the columns without fixing them to the structure to preserve their integrity. These were lit with a soft coloured light for evening use.

A subtle colour scheme allowed the architectural features to speak for themselves.
